How we find and hand-check deals
Updated October 12, 2026
Finding deals is partly automated. Deciding what posts is always done by a person.
Finding deals
We use automated tools, including AI, to scan approved US stores for price drops and promo codes. The same tools write a first draft of each deal note from the deal's details. Nothing is published at this stage.
What the editor checks
Before a deal posts, an editor confirms that:
- The price is live. They open the store's listing and check the price. For Amazon, they check the deal is running. We don't show Amazon prices; see Why don't you show Amazon prices?
- The code works. If there's a promo code, they check that it applies at checkout.
- It's a US store. US storefronts and prices in US dollars only.
- The store is approved. We only list stores whose affiliate program has approved us.
- The note is accurate. The editor fixes the draft and decides whether it's published.
Rules every deal note follows
- Plain, direct language, without hype.
- No made-up specs or claims.
- No "tested", "lab" or review-score language, because we don't test products.
- No "best ever" or "lowest price" unless the price history proves it.
- No price in a note about an Amazon deal.
After a deal posts
Prices and codes can change at any time. When a deal ends, we mark it expired within minutes of finding out. See What happens when a deal ends.
